Snickerdoodle Cookies

Snickerdoodles are soft, chewy cookies coated with cinnamon sugar. Their slightly tangy flavor from cream of tartar distinguishes them from regular sugar cookies, making them a comforting, classic treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1½ cups (300g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup (50g) sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare sheets
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar
    Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs.
  3. Combine dry ingredients
    Whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Add to wet mixture.
  4. Shape and roll
    Roll dough into balls and coat in cinnamon sugar.
  5. Bake
    Bake 8–10 minutes. Cool before serving.
