Pan-Seared Cod with Lemon Butter

Pan-Seared Cod is a light, flaky fish dish that cooks quickly and absorbs flavors beautifully. The crispy exterior contrasts with tender interior, and a simple lemon butter sauce enhances its delicate taste.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (6 oz / 170g each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season cod
Pat fillets dry, season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear fish
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook cod 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and opaque in center. Remove and keep warm.
  3. Prepare sauce
In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic, sauté 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice and parsley.
  4. Serve
Drizzle lemon butter over cod fillets. Serve with sautéed vegetables or rice.
