Banoffee Pie

Banoffee Pie is a British dessert with a rich combination of bananas, caramel, cream, and a buttery biscuit base. Its layers of sweetness and texture make it indulgent yet approachable, perfect for family gatherings or special occasions.


Ingredients

Base:

  • 1½ cups (150g) digestive biscuits, crushed
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted

Filling:

  • 1 can (14 oz / 400g) dulce de leche
  • 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare base
    Combine crushed biscuits and melted butter. Press into a 9-inch pie pan. Chill in refrigerator while preparing filling.
  2. Layer dulce de leche and bananas
    Spread dulce de leche over chilled base. Arrange banana slices evenly on top.
  3. Whip cream
    Beat heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread over bananas.
  4. Serve
    Chill pie for 1–2 hours before serving. Optional: dust with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
