Chicken Parmesan is a classic Italian-American dish featuring breaded chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1½ cups (150g) breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Prepare chicken
    Pound chicken breasts to even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Bread the chicken
    Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
  4. Cook chicken
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to baking dish.
  5. Add sauce and cheese
    Spoon marinara sauce over chicken, then top with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Bake
    Bake for 20–25 minutes until chicken is cooked through (165°F / 74°C) and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Serve
    Garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve with pasta, rice, or vegetables.
